It has finally happened. When i got the information , i was too surprised but below is the gist

An 8 year old schoolboy, Sanele Masilela, married 61 year-old married mother of five, Helen Shabangu, over the weekend, because the ghost of his dead ancestor told him to and his family, fearing divine retribution, organized a quick wedding.

Defending the wedding, Sanele’s family said it’s not legally binding, it was just a ritual. They didn’t sign a marriage certificate and won’t live together. Sanele’s 46yr old mum, Patience Masilela said:
‘This is the first time this has happened in the family. Sanele is named after his grandfather, who never had a white wedding before he died so asked Sanele to get married. He chose Helen because he loves her. By doing this we made the ancestors happy. If we hadn’t done what my son had asked then something bad would have happened in the family. I didn’t have a problem with it because I know it’s what the ancestors wanted and it would make them happy.

I don’t think either the Woman or the little boy was happy about this union , you could observe their moods in the picture above.

The wedding, which was held in the municipality of Tshwane in Gauteng province, reportedly cost £1,000 and had the blessing of Sanele’s family and Ms Shabangu’s current husband.

The marriage means eight-year-old Sanele is now the ‘stepfather’ to Ms Shabangu’s five children, who are all aged between 27 and 37.

Although Sanele was said to be happy to go through with the marriage, it appears the groom already has his doubts over the long-term future of the couple.

“When I am older I will marry a lady my own age,” Sanele apparently told reporters. He added that he still planned to “go to school and study hard”.

The wedding is said to have shocked the local community but Sanele’s mother Patience Masilela hit back at critics by insisting that the world was only conducted to appease the spirit world and insisted it was more of a ritual wedding than anything legally binding.

According to sources, the couple did not sign a marriage certificate and have gone back to living separate lives after the ceremony took place.
