Celebrity of the week is celebrating Nigerian – Ghanaian Famous Singer Mr Eazi.
Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade , Popularly known as Mr Eazi which is his stage name has come to stay , slay and conquer the music industry both in Nigeria, Ghana and the rest of the world.
Born 19th July 1991, Mr Eazi hails from Ogun state, Nigeria and was born in Port-harcourt in Nigeria.
He had his primary and secondary school education in Lagos and then migrated to Ghana in 2017 to have his university education at world class Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, in Kumasi to study mechanical engineering.
He caught the music bug and started recording songs in 2010 in his final year with a group – Code Red.
In 2012 he took the major step to releasing his first single -Pipi Dance at the studio of producers PeeWee and KluMonsta
He continued to record a mixtape in the same studio, called ‘About To Blow’. This Mixtape was produced mostly by KluMonsta. One official single, ‘Bankulize’, was produced by UK based DJ Juls which featured Pappy Kojo.
‘Bankulize’ paved to way for Mr Eazi, giving him a lot of shine and enabling him to work with even bigger artists.
It also leads to his release of his hit ‘Skin Tight’ featuring Efya which got over a million views on youtube.
In addition to ‘Skin Tight’, he also released ‘Hollup’, another track that did well, reaching almost 2 million video views on YouTube.
Life hasn’t always been just Music all the way for Mr Eazi as he has also ventured into entrepreneurship as he owns the phone trading company , phonetrader.ng
Eazi also created swagger entertainment while in his 2nd year which gave him leverage in the music industry in both Nigeria and Ghana.
Talking about lifestyle, Mr eazi loves the popular local Ghanaian meal , Banku . Funny enough Mr Eazi titles his genre of music – Banku Music due to the fact he combines different genre of music to create his own sound.
He himself brands his music as Banku Music. He describes it on his website as:
Mr Eazi has collaborated with famous names in the Ghanaian and Nigerian music industry, such as Sarkodie, Efya, and Pappy Kojo.
In 2016, he was controversially excluded from the annual Ghana Music Awards because he’s not a Ghanaian citizen.
In 2016, Mr Eazi was disqualified from the Vodafone Ghana Music Award because he’s not Ghanaian by blood.
In May 7, 2016, WizKid announced that he had signed him to his record label Starboy Worldwide.
