Panshak Zamani popularly known as Ice Prince was born in Minna, Niger State, to Mr. and Mrs. Nasara Zamani  . At the age of 2 ice and his family moved to Jos,Plateau State, Nigeria, which is his parents’ home state .He had his primary Education at St. Murumba College, Jos . The same school P.square and professional footballer Mikel Obi attended.

He also attended the Science Tutorial College in Jos,He started performance and rap while in secondary school. In 1998 he began writing music, he also performed this songs in his school and parties then. He joined the choir in his church and started singing Tenor.

In 1999 , Ice Prince lost his dad (May his soul Rest in peace) then his mum(may her soul rest in peace). He got  admitted into University of Jos to study Zoology but  had to drop out of  school in his 100 level to continue with his music because of some financial constraint.

In 2001 Ice started going to studios were he met some people and later formed a group in 2002 called “the Ecomog Squad” They had a few performances as a group and split a year later.

That was about the time MI moved back to Nigeria and they became not just friends, but became family. He moved to Abuja and started living together with MI and his brother Jesse Jags. They started making music together.

In 2004, his debut single ‘Extraordinary’ was released and  made it to Number 1 in Jos, that was when he started getting more attention. That same year he hooked up with M.I, Jesse Jagz, Ruby, Lindsey, Eve, Taz and together they became what is now ‘Loopy’. In 2008 ,They  moved to Lagos where they stayed at Djinee’s house.

Djinee gave us some space in his house to sleep. Djinee is like my Jesus. He came through for us. We lived in his house and made it very uncomfortable for him but he took all the pain and accommodated us.Gradually, there was steady growth. We got our own place, started making music. – ICE PRINCE

In 2008, Ice Prince hosted Sprite Triple Slam which was 30 shows, 15 in Lagos, 15 in the East.

I got some small money off that to buy some new jeans and shoes so that girls would, you know, say hi to me when they see me. -ICE PRINCE

In 2009 Ice Prince participated in the Hennessy artistry competition organized by the Hennessy brand which supports urban and contemporary music. The competition featured the likes of Bez, Mo’cheddah, Blaise, and Jimmy Flames but Ice Prince came out NO.1 with his lead single “Badman”.

In 2010 he came up with a hit titled ‘OLEKU’ which was a massive hit in the music industry. The song was on radio station charts in all over Nigeria. It was the No.1 song of 2010 in most radio and Tv stations around the country It was released under CHOCOLATE CITY label . Oleku (Ice Prince song)

My record deal with Chocolate City came off of my affiliation with MI and Jesse Jagz. We are pretty much brothers, we’ve always lived together, always been together. But then Chocolate City signed MI first. It was like they did it in order of our age. Then they signed Jesse Jagz. Jesse was obviously more ready than I was at that time. Then they saw that I was getting ready as well and they signed me too.-ICE PRINCE

Ice Prince says MI is his  brother,  friend and  mentor.

He is someone that if 200 people tell me no and MI tells me yes, I would do the yes. That is how loyal I am to him, that is how I respect him, how much I look up to him. He never gives me bad advice, he wishes me well and he’s always happy when I succeed. – ICE PRINCE

His influences are Notorious B.I.G, Rakim, Jay-Z, Common, Talib Kweli, Kanye West, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Lauryn Hill. M.I and Jesse Jagz who are his close friends as well have also influenced his music. He has had collaborations with M.I, Jesse Jagz,Dekunle Fuji,Rugged man, kennis st brown(KSB) , Banky W,Kel,Gino,Terry Tha Rapman,Sauce Kid,Djinee,da suspect,YQ,El Dee,Naeto C, Mo Cheddah,Wiz Kid amongst others.

Jesse is my best friend. Jesse is the guy that understands me the most. Nobody understands me more than Jesse and I don’t think anybody understands Jesse more than I do. We have that bond and so when we are in the studio we just put it together and we make magic.- ICE PRINCE

In case you don’t know , Ice Prince titled his album Everybody Loves Ice Prince because when he lost his Mum, There was so much love, so much care from all around the world. People really showed him love.

So for those single ladies wondering if he is single , well he is not , sorry to burst your hope . He doesn’t talk much about her , but they grew up together . But not so sure if they are still toghether at the moment.
Ice Prince likes her because

She’s wonderful, she understands me very well, she supports me, she prays for me a lot. If I mess up, she doesn’t waste time to tell me straight up. She’s cool.

As a celebrity , a typical day in the life of Ice Prince when he is not doing any show or studio session ,

He wakes up in the morning, brushes his teeth, have my bath, have breakfast, open my email, have a meeting with my manager and we talk about what I’m supposed to do that day. Then he probably goes to the studio, listen to the stuff he recorded the night before in his little home studio or listen to beats and see what he can work with. He’d probably go see a friend, or go to MI or Jesse’s house to make noise, eat some lunch, call some girls, go on Twitter, watch TV.

I’m an easy guy, I don’t do too much. I’m not the club kind of guy, I don’t party too much except it’s necessary.

Ice has a son  names Jamal and he keeps a healthy relationship with the mother of his child .

We’re cool, we’re friends, we still hang out.- ICE PRINCE

Ice Prince Zamani lived up to the hype and delivered a smash hit Oleku in 2010 which is his official single under the Chocolate City label. Ice Prince‘s ‘rap resume’ is a long list of songs he’s been featured on. From Banky W to YQ, eLDee and Naeto C, A’West, Dekunle Fuji, Kel, Gino, Terry Tha Rapman, Sauce Kid, Rollins Avns, Djinee, Mo Cheddah, Wizkid and the obvious suspects M.I, Jesse Jagz just to name a few. He’s worked with the biggest artistes in the industry. So far with only 3 singles to his name – Extraordinary (2004), Rewind (2009),Oleku (2010) he’s forged a reputation for himself independent of his label mates.

Ice Prince has cited that his music has been influenced by artist such as Davarel Davmusic, Notorious B.I.G., Rakim, Jay-Z, Common, Talib Kweli, Kanye West, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Lauryn Hill, M.I and Jesse Jagz.
