Kidneys are a very essential organ of the body for necessary functioning. This week i would be discussing and sharing ways and habits in which we damage our kidneys unintentionally.

Our kidneys are extremely important for our health and wellbeing. This organ filters blood, absorb minerals, help produce hormones, eliminate toxins and even neutralize acids.

Here is a list of 10 ways you are destroying your kidneys which can cause serious damage over time.

Depriving your self of adequate sleep

We all know that a good night rest for our body to function properly during the day. So depriving your body of adequate rest can be damaging to your kidneys as it needs that time to repair damaged kidney tissues and give time for the body to heal and repair itself. So ensure you have adequate sleep.

Salt

Yes salt!!! Too much salt in our diet is common but this is a bad and damaging habit especially to our kidneys. This consumption in excess can lead to increase in blood pressure which then puts stress on our kidneys. Salt should be consumed in moderation.

Sugar

It is not only excess salt consumption that is damaging but also SUGAR!!!. Sugar is consumed in different forms such as drinks, meals , sweets etc, Consuming this can lead to excess protein in your urine which is a sign that your kidneys are failing. Let us try and minimize our sugar intake ..

Water

Our kidneys need water to filter blood and eliminate toxins and the waste materials from our body. So not drinking enough water will cause for accumulation of this waste materials and toxins which then lead to damage in our body…

Mineral and Vitamin Deficiencies

Deficiency in vitamins and minerals intake is also damaging to our kidneys. This can lead to kidney stones and even failure.

Vitamins like B6 and magnesium help to reduce kidney stones. We should eat clean and whole food diet and not to forget fruits.
